PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desk type display device capable of reducing power consumption of a back light.SOLUTION: A desk type display device 1 includes a top plate part 2, and legs 3 supporting the top plate part 2; and the top plate part 2 includes a liquid crystal panel 13 that is accommodated in a casing 2a so that a display screen is exposed from an opening of the casing 2a, a touch panel 16 that is provided overlapped with the display screen, and a back light that comprises a plurality of light sources emitting light toward division areas obtained by dividing the display screen. The desk type display device 1 further includes a detection unit that detects, when an object is mounted on the top plate part, a position of the object mounted on the top plate part; and when the position of the object is detected by the detection unit, the desk type display device 1 reduces the intensity of light emitted toward one of the division areas corresponding to the position where the object is mounted less than the intensity of light emitted toward other division areas. |
