PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power amplification device configured to amplify input power to output power which avoids unnecessarily stressing a power amplifier to be switched to a stopped state and prevents an output protection circuit from malfunctioning, in switching an operating state from a parallel operating state to a single operating state.SOLUTION: An operating state is switched from a state of parallel operation of power amplifiers 2A, 2B to a state of single operation of only the power amplifier 2A. As to the power amplifier 2B to be switched to a stopped state, within a transition period of switching the operating state, the supply of a supply voltage is stopped, but a bias supply period shorter than the transition period is set for executing the supply of a bias voltage. For the bias supply period within the transition period of switching the operating state, an idling current flows through the power amplifier 2B to be switched to a stopped state, to electrically discharge a smoothing capacitor for the supplied supply voltage connected to the power amplifier 2B to be switched to a stopped state. |
