PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve ethanol fermentation efficiency in the presence of acetic acid to attain excellent ethanol productivity.SOLUTION: The method comprises culturing, in a media containing acetic acid, a yeast mutant strain lacking an acetaldehyde dehydrogenase gene corresponding to at least one acetaldehyde dehydrogenase gene selected from the group consisting of the ALD4 gene, the ALD5 gene, and the ALD6 gene in Saccharomyces Cerevisiae, and recovering ethanol in the medium. |
