摘要 The present invention relates to a potentiometer using an optical element made of; a fixing code panel which is installed uprightly on a supporting body and is extended in a transverse direction; and a mobile device which places the fixing code panel between first and second body units and is integrally connected to linear-reciprocate. The fixing code panel comprises a light penetration unit which forms a scale in which the width grows progressively narrower from one end to the other end. The mobile device mounts a light emitting device which emits light in the inner side of the first body unit. The mobile device mounts a mobile code panel in which a light receiving area unit is formed on the inner side of the second body unit to receive the light which passes through the light penetration unit from the light emitting device. The mobile device mounts light receiving device on the inner side inside the mobile code panel and outputs an electric signal according to the quantity of light after receiving the light inserted by the light receiving area unit. Therefore, an abrasion between the mobile device and the fixing code panel is not generated even if the potentiometer is used for a long time.
