The present invention provides a small, inexpensive power supply device having high output-voltage response in relation to input voltage. This power supply device is provided with a power-supply main circuit and a power-supply control circuit, the power-supply main circuit performing a voltage-converting action for converting the direct-current input voltage of the input power source to a prescribed direct-current output voltage, and supplying electric power to a load by applying the prescribed direct-current output voltage to the load. The power-supply control circuit generates a amount of control for the voltage conversion action of the power-supply main circuit and controls the voltage conversion action, the prescribed direct-current output voltage of the power-supply main circuit being proportional to the product of the control amount of the power-supply main circuit and the input voltage during normal operation, and the control amount of the power-supply main circuit including the reciprocal of the input direct-current voltage as a factor.
