PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device for a vehicle capable of providing information on a front obstacle at an optimal timing specific to each vehicle driver.SOLUTION: A driving support device for a vehicle (2) comprises: an inter-vehicle time calculation unit (22) acquiring data including distance from its own vehicle (1) to a front obstacle and speed of the vehicle and calculating an inter-vehicle time on the basis of the data; an accelerator operation DB (32) storing frequencies where the inter-vehicle time at deceleration start time when an operation to return an accelerator starts is calculated every time the vehicle stops, for each of a plurality of sectioned ranges of the inter-vehicle time; a reference value determination unit (24) determining a reference value of information provision timing at which the information on a front obstacle is provided on the basis of the frequencies stored in the accelerator operation DB; and an information provision unit (26) providing the information on a front obstacle in the case where the inter-vehicle time calculated by the inter-vehicle time calculation unit becomes equal to the reference value of information provision timing and the operation to return an accelerator has not been started. |
