PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficiency improvement device for a heat pump air conditioner capable of being used not only for horticulture but also for a general house and a factory and further improving heat efficiency of the heat pump air conditioner.SOLUTION: An efficiency improvement device 100 of a heat pump air conditioner 50 is provided to improve heat efficiency of the heat pump air conditioner having an indoor unit 51 installed indoors and an outdoor unit 52 installed outdoors. The efficiency improvement device of the heat pump air conditioner includes a heat exchanger 10 connected to a pump P for pumping up ground water disposed in a ground water storage portion 30, and exchanging heat between the ground water pumped up by the pump P for pumping up ground water and the outside air, and a ground water supply pipe 45 for supplying the ground water passing through the heat exchanger to an external device 70 without returning the same to the ground water storage portion. The heat exchanger is disposed in adjacent to an intake side of the outdoor unit. The external device has a hydraulic power generator connected to the ground water supply pipe and generating power by using the ground water passing through the heat exchanger.
