The present invention relates to a book which can perform local area wireless communication and comprises: a body unit where multiple inner sheets for expressing the content of a book are combined; a cover unit which covers the front and back sides of the body unit; a local area wireless communication device which is formed on the cover unit; and a protective layer which covers the local area wireless communication device. The local area wireless communication device comprises: an antenna which transmits and receives radio waves into and from an external terminal by being formed by printing or a silk screen on the cover unit during the process of forming the cover unit; and an integrated circuit chip which stores information on the book by being formed to be electrically connected with the antenna on the cover unit. Disclosed are the book and a manufacturing method for the same where the protective layer is formed on the upper part of the antenna and the upper part of the integrated circuit chip.
