The present invention relates to a battery pack assembly having a device for detecting water collection in the installation part in which a battery pack is installed and to a method for detecting water collection. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the battery pack assembly comprises a watertight case having a device for detecting water collection installed in the bottom surface thereof and a battery pack assembled therein, wherein the device for detecting water collection includes a body having a water inflow opening for enabling water collected in the installation part to flow; a floating member which floats by buoyancy of water flown in the body; a switch part which is electrically turned on when the floating member raises to the set height; and an elastic member for connecting the floating member and the bottom surface of the body so that the floating member can be disposed in the predetermined location when the buoyancy of water does not act on the floating member.
