Method for classifying vehicles in motion

The method involves emitting a radar beam to form radar radiation by a radar apparatus. Rating regions (BB) are compared with spectrographs stored in the rating regions for various vehicle classes to classify a passing vehicle (3). Object angles are derived from measurement signals (4) to a relevant valuation point (tB) within the rating regions with maximum bandwidth. The object angles for the relevant valuation point are stored based on frequency. Course of function is compared with comparison models stored for various vehicle classes to verify classification of the vehicle.
