<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use supernatant drainage obtained by removing a slurry-like lead substance from lead substance containing water drained by cleaning operation again without carrying it to a treatment facility, in a process for manufacturing the electrode plate of a lead-acid battery. <P>SOLUTION: Firstly, the lead substance is separated from the lead substance containing water by precipitating operation. A gas is introduced into the supernatant drainage from which the lead substance has been separated to further separate the lead substance by filtering operation, and then, remaining drainage is used for cleaning operation in an active material filling process, wherein the gas is preferably introduced into neutralized supernatant drainage.
