PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feed speed control method and a feed speed control apparatus which prevents a local processing burn. SOLUTION: The feed speed control method controls a relative feed speed F of a tool 30 with regard to a workpiece 15, such that a process efficiency Q"(w,θ, t) at each micro-region is controlled to be equal to or below the upper limit Q"set1 when dividing the processing region into a plurality of micro-regions by the tool 30 at each instant t during the processing.
