1,114,149. Air filters. ENVIRCO Inc. 19 April. 1967 [31 May, 1966]. No. 18067/67. Heading BIT. [Also in Division E2] Ventilation intake filters are clamped to downward facing gaskets 60 around openings defined by a frame lattice (38), made up of U-section members 42, by pawls 62, 64 which are rotatable through 90 degrees, into engagement with recesses 36 in the filter frames or alternatively with the lower edges of the frames, and thereafter moved upwards by tightening bolt 66, threaded through captive nut 70. Fig. 6 shows a device for holding two adjacent filters, but devices around the edge of assembly have single pawls to engage one filter only (Figs. 7-10, not shown). The lattice (38) is itself suspended from the ceiling of a room (Figs. 1, 2, not shown). The pawls are held between helical springs, so that they are turned into recesses 36 by turning the bolt head 68 until restrained against further turning by stop 84 (Figs. 3 - 5, not shown). The upper spring resists accidental turning of the bolt, while the lower transmits the compression force between bolt head and pawls.
|
