Provided in the present invention are a guide sensor for an automatic guided vehicle using high frequency magnetic induction properties and a control method thereof. The guide sensor comprises: an alternating current oscillator (10) which supplies a sinusoidal alternating current to a first inductor (21) of a high-frequency inductive sensor (20) in order to make high frequency flow in the first inductor (21); a high-frequency inductive sensor (20) having the first inductor (21) which enables the high frequency supplied from the alternating current oscillator (10) to flow, and a second inductor (22) which is induced by the existence of magnetism generated by a magnetic tape (30); a magnetic tape (30) which induces the magnetism to the second inductor (22); an alternating current amplifier (40) which amplifies an alternating signal induced to the second inductor (22); a half-wave and full-wave rectification circuit (50) which rectifies the amplified signal in the alternating current amplifier (40); a smoothing circuit (60) which smoothens the rectified signal by the half-wave and full-wave rectification circuit (50); a sensitivity regulator (70) which provides a preset sensitivity regulation value to a comparator (80); and a comparator (80) which compares the smoothed value in the smoothing circuit (60) with the set value of the sensitivity regulator (70) in order to output "1" of a digital value when the smoothed direct current value in the smoothing circuit (60) is larger than the set value or to output "0" in the opposite situation. Therefore, the guide sensor for an automatic guided vehicle using high frequency magnetic induction properties can minimize magnetizing functions and have a function to remove magnetization.
