The stock mixture to be blended or homogenised is held in a vat fitted pref. internally with an impeller blade forcing liquid from one area to an enclosed container and thence to an outlet duct or back into the main bulk of the liquid to provide a mixing action. The flow direction for removal or retention of liquid is governed by vanes or a control lip.
