A method and a device for controlling a security system in a building wherein the security system comprises at least one wireless alarm detector (14; 16; 21; 23) and a gateway (12) having communication means for communicating with said at least one alarm detector (14; 16; 21; 23) and a remote alarm receiving centre (18). A mobile device (34) is used to arm the security system and to initiate disarming of the system after a predetermined time period. Disarming of the security system also sets the mode of lighting means depending on ambient light conditions. At least one power interface unit (30) is connected to at least one lighting device (32; 33), said at least one power interface unit (30) being operatively connected to said gateway (12) for receiving switching on and switching of commands depending on arm mode. |
