<p>The method involves executing eddy current testing in a track (4) when an excitation coil (7) for magnetic alternating field and a sensor i.e. sensor coil (8), for detecting magnetic field are guided over the track in a longitudinal direction, where the magnetic field is produced by eddy current in the track. A sensor signal i.e. eddy current induced in the sensor coil, is evaluated, where the eddy current depends on distance of the excitation coil from the rail. A sensor is designed such that small changes in the distance between the sensor and the track are compensated. An independent claim is also included for a device for testing a track.</p> |
