[Class 52(iii)] A stand on which a circular heater 1, or other article may be pivoted, consists of two U-shaped members 4, 5 the outer ends of the limbs 8 being provided with openings which register with one another in pairs to form mountings for the pivots 2, 3 of the heater, the members 4, 5 being adapted to encircle the heater, or to engage one inside the other, or to be set angularly to form a stand in which each member is formed by a strip, tube or rod of which the middle portion is curved about the centre of the circular heater and the ends bent outwardly and then backwardly. The pivots 2, 3 are screw-threaded so that the wing nuts 9 may secure the heater at any desired angle. The heater may be maintained in a horizontal position, to heat a saucepan, by a bracket provided with prongs which engage the members 8. Two serrated members one of which is mounted on the heater and held in engagement with each other by a spring or the action of the nut 9 may replace the bracket.</p> |
