<p>PURPOSE: A protection material for a steel coil edge is provided to prevent corrosion of a steel coil, to have a sufficient shock absorbing effect and is recyclable. CONSTITUTION: A protection material for a steel coil edge is formed by attaching a film with rustproofing treatment in the one surface or the both surfaces of a base sheet(10) and a film with rustproofing treatment is located on a metal contact side. The steel coil edge is formed by attaching a rust preventive paper(30) in the one surface or the both surfaces of the base sheet and the rust preventive paper is located on a metal contact side. The steel coil edge is formed by attaching the film with rustproofing treatment in the one surface of the base sheet and the other surface of the base sheet by attaching the rust preventive paper; the film with rustproof treatment is located on the metal contact side and the rust preventive paper is located on the non-metal contact side. A linerboard(40) is further attached between the base sheet and the film with rustproof treatment. The linerboard is further attached between the base sheet and the rust preventive paper. The base sheet is one of a polyolefin resin sheet, a foamed sheet or a linerboard. The polyolefin resin sheet and foamed sheet is polyethylene resin or polypropylene resin.
