The machine i.e. electrical motor (2), has a main bearing (12) i.e. magnetic active bearing, for supporting a rotor (8) relative to a stator (6) at main range speed. A secondary bearing (16) supports the rotor in relative to the stator when the main bearing fails, and is formed as a passive electrodynamic bearing with a permanent magnet and a movable electric conductive element. An auxiliary bearing (30) is attached with the main bearing. Another auxiliary bearing (32) is assigned with another main bearing (14) based on requirements. Each auxiliary bearing is formed as a smooth bearing. |
