The table (1) has a rigid insert (7) integrated between horizontal faces of a horizontal plate (2). The plate comprises a compressible intercalated band (8) that is placed between the insert and a longitutinal edge (2a) of the plate and undergoes a compression phenomenon according to an extending direction in a horizontal plane. The edge undergoes translational movement relative to the insert when a thrust force (F) is applied to the edge towards the insert such that displacement of the edge relative to the insert causes compression of the band to absorb a part of a kinetic energy.
