The multi-layer bag mat (1) has multiple layers which are sewn, welded, glued, clamped or pressed to produce a bag mat. The substrate of gel-like substance is designed and puts forth the growth of plant roots. The gel-like substrate is watered with the sewn-in or imported irrigation pipes (8) and is additionally inoculated with fertilizer. The braided strands are manufactured from elastic composition. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing the braided bag mat; and (2) a method for mounting a bag mat.
