PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus allowing a user to view a nip part in a fixing part and to easily find a location where paper jam occurs.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes: a side cover 201 which is provided on a side part of an apparatus body so as to be freely opened and closed; a fixing part 80 which is provided at a position proximate to the side cover 201 inside the apparatus body for fixing an image on a paper sheet P transported upward from the bottom side of the apparatus body; and a document placing table 130 which is provided on an upper part of the apparatus body and on which a document is placed. A cutout 130K is formed by cutting off inward a portion of the document placing table 130 facing an upper part of the side cover 201. When the side cover 201 is opened, the user can view a nip part 85 in the fixing part 80 obliquely from the upside in the lateral direction of the apparatus body through the cutout 130K. |
