Provided are a method and a system for controlling the position of the display area of a head-up display (HUD). The method for controlling the position of the display area of a head-up display according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a step of vertically moving an HUD display area in an eyebox area and a step of moving position recognition UI by corresponding to the vertical movement of the HUD display area, thereby displaying an HUD image on the windshield of a vehicle.
