PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote transmission system.SOLUTION: A virtual broadband transmitting unit comprises: a stream generator to generate a plurality of data streams from a live media transmission signal at a remote reporting location for simultaneous live upload via a plurality of wireless modems; a plurality of modem managers, each associated with one of the plurality of wireless modems; transmission control means to control the upload of the data streams through a selected set of the wireless modems by inequitably distributing packets of the data streams among the wireless modems for the simultaneous upload on the basis of at least one of upload channel quality and monitored performance of the plurality of wireless modems; and a traffic analyzer to perform at least one of detecting performance trends among the wireless modems and instructing one of the modem managers to lower the transmission rate of its associated wireless modem or to shut down the wireless modem. |
