PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical fastener application device.SOLUTION: A surgical fastener application device 10 includes: an end effector assembly 300 including an anvil assembly 350 and a cartridge assembly 360; a fluid operated drive assembly including a distal piston member configured to oscillate between a proximal position and a distal position, in which the distal piston member includes a base and a rack extending from the base to the distal position; a driving beam configured to translate through the cartridge assembly to emit a plurality of surgical fasteners from the cartridge assembly; and a ratchet assembly for coupling the driving beam to the rack, so that when the distal piston member oscillates between the proximal position and the distal position, the driving beam is advanced with a gradual increment along the rack and through the cartridge assembly. |
