PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel series of analogues of glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), pharmaceutical compositions containing the compounds, and the use of the compounds as GIP-receptor agonists or antagonists for treatment of GIP-receptor mediated conditions, such as non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus and obesity.SOLUTION: The present invention includes: GIP analogues with the specific amino acid sequences, compounds in which substitution or modification of at least one additional amino acid which is not the amino acid residue of the corresponding position of the native GIP, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; and pharmaceutical compositions containing any of the compounds for treatment of GIP-receptor binding mediated conditions or diseases. |
