PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent conductor (one having at least one or more layers of materials other than a transparent substrate, laminated on the transparent substrate by a wet coating method or a dry coating method) having an excellent transparent conductivity.SOLUTION: A method for producing a transparent conductor comprises: a coating step where a carbon nanotube dispersion having a zeta potential of less than 0 mV (for example, -70 to -40 mV) is coated on a transparent substrate with a surface subjected to a surface cationizing treatment such as a silane coupling treatment or a cationic polymer treatment; and a drying step where a dispersion medium is removed from the carbon nanotube dispersion on the transparent substrate.
