<p>Wheel (1) for wheelchairs, which comprises a ring (3) to propel the rim (15) of said wheel (1), and which is characterized in that it comprises a rotation direction reversing mechanism (4, 5, 6) capable of being activated or deactivated by the wheelchair's user, with said reversing mechanism (4, 5, 6) being associated in its active position to said propeller ring (3) so that when the propeller ring 1 (3) is rotated in one direction, said wheel (1) rotates in the opposite direction. Further a roll-back prevention is provided. Thanks to these characteristics, the user may also climb ramps or slopes in a much safer and more comfortable manner, with no risk of injuries. The direction reversing mechanism is manipulated by shifting the propeller ring on the wheel axis.</p> |
