<p>Provided are: a liquid ejection device that is capable of performing liquid ejection processing and a liquid ejection method even if a liquid supply tube is routed along a pathway that passes between a device main body and a cover member; and a liquid ejection method. A printer is provided with a device main body and an image reading unit (13) that serves as an example of a cover member. An opening that exposes at least one part of the movement region of a carriage is formed in the device main body. An ink supply tube that extends from an ink tank is routed so as to pass between the device main body and the image reading unit (13), is inserted through the opening, and supplies ink to a liquid ejection head. In this state the tube goes through the upper surface of the main body and it becomes impossible to close the cover, but by inserting an insertion member (51) into a concave section (38) for detection, a sensor (52) achieves a detection state and printing operation is possible.</p> |
