The embodiments of the present invention relate to a base station with an MIMO accelerator and a control method therefor. The base station with an MIMO accelerator comprises: an MIMO accelerator comprising at least four independent antenna channels and corresponding radio frequency channels for beamforming; a radio remote unit, the number of antenna channels of which is less than the number of antenna channels of the MIMO accelerator, the antenna transmit power of the radio remote unit being higher than the antenna transmit power of the MIMO accelerator, and the wireless signal transmission of the radio remote unit being synchronized with the MIMO accelerator; an uplink detection entity for receiving a signal from the MIMO accelerator and selecting a candidate user of beamforming; and a main unit for allocating the resource of the MIMO accelerator according to the user selected by the uplink detection entity, generating a transmitting signal to the MIMO accelerator and demodulating and decoding the signal from the MIMO accelerator.
