[Solution] Information about the vehicle route is acquired, the travelling direction of the vehicle at a guidance intersection ahead of the vehicle is determined on the basis of the route information, and when the proximity of the vehicle to the guidance intersection has become greater than or equal to a threshold value, the display state of a display unit is transitioned from a first display state to a second display state. In the first display state, a guidance image indicating the travel direction is displayed on the display unit superimposed on the forward view in a section other than the image of the guidance intersection, and a connection line image which connects the guidance image and the image of the guidance intersection in the forward view is displayed on the display unit superimposed on the forward view. In the second display state, the guidance image is displayed on the display unit superimposed over the image of the guidance intersection in the forward view.
