The present invention relates to a branched polycarbonate resin and to a method for preparing same. In one specific embodiment, the branched polycarbonate resin contains a unit of formula 1 in claim 1. In another embodiment, the branched polycarbonate resin is characterized in that it is polymerized using a branching agent represented by formula 2 in claim 6, has a Mark-Houwink constant of about 0.4 to about 0.6, and has a terminal hydroxyl group concentration of about 22% or less relative to the terminal group total. The branched polycarbonate resin significantly reduces the concentration of the terminal hydroxyl group by introducing a specific branching agent, thereby improving the yellowness index and obtaining a hyper-branched structure.
