<p>1340407 Phenylethanolamine derivatives BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM GmbH 19 April 1971 [25 Feb 1970] 22455/71 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (A = phenyl or substituted phenyl group, or condensed bicyclic group wherein the ring not directly bonded to the chain is carbocyclic or heterocyclic and saturated or aromatic; R 1 = H, alkyl, alkoxy; R 2 = H, Me, Et; R 3 = H, Me; R 4 = H, alkyl; R 5 = H, OH) and their salts are prepared by (a) removing the protecting group(s) in a compound of the formula (R 6,7 = H, protecting group (not both H)) or (b) reducing a compound of the formula (B = CO, CHOH), optionally followed in either case by isomer separation and/or salt formation. The preparation of starting materials for processes (a) and (b) by standard methods is described. The above compounds are of interest in the treatment of cardiac insufficiency and for stabilizing the circulation. They may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.</p> |
