PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a battery that can facilitate production.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of manufacturing a battery which includes a rivet terminal 3a fitted to a cover plate 6, a power generating element 1 having an active material uncoated part, and a current collecting connection plate 2 having a main body 2a connected to the rivet terminal 3a and a connection plate part 2b connected to the active material uncoated part. The method includes a first step of arranging a lower insulating sealing material 5 and the main body 2a of the current collecting connection plate 2 on a lower surface of the cover plate 6, and fitting the lower insulating sealing material 5 and the current collecting connection plate 2 to the cover plate 6 by connecting and fixing the rivet terminal 3a and the main body 2a of the current collecting connection plate 2, and a second step of joining the active material uncoated part and the connection plate part 2b together with the connection plate part 2b of the current collecting connection plate 2 along the active material uncoated part, the second step being carried out after the first step. |
