PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a heat transfer plate that in joining a pair of metal plates using a bobbin tool to manufacture a heat transfer plate, can prevent joining defect from occurring and join preferably metal materials.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a heat transfer plate for manufacturing the heat transfer plate by joining metal plates 100A and 100B having a plurality of flow passage holes therein using a rotating tool unit 2, performs: a facing step of facing end faces of the metal plates 100A and 100B; and a joining step of friction agitation joining by moving a pin 13 of a rotated bobbin tool 5 to a faced part N. In the joining step, distance between a first shoulder 11 and a second shoulder 12 is set to a thickness equal to or less than the metal plates 100A and 100B.
