The device has a piston pump (12) coupled with a drive shaft i.e. crank shaft. The piston pump includes a pump housing (14) and a pump piston (16) for pumping fluid from a supply tank (26) to a pressure reservoir (32) via the chambers. The pump housing is accelerated by the drive shaft. The pump piston is provided between chambers (18, 20), and moved relative to the pump housing. A movement of the pump piston is decoupled from a movement of the pump housing such that the pump housing is movable relative to the pump piston due to rotation non-uniformities.
