The continuous gear mechanism has a gear pinion (1), which drives a large brake disk (2b) of a double taper-ring-gear (2) by a free wheel (13) and an expanding clutch (7). A small brake disk (2a) of the double taper-ring-gear drives a sun gear (3b) of a planetary stage (3) by another expanding clutch (11) and a driving ring (4) of the sun gear. A double taper roller carrier (5) of the friction drive and a bar (3a) of the planetary stage are axially movable and are placed on a common hollow shaft (6) in a torque-proof manner, so that their opposing torques are partially removed.
