FLAME-RETARDANT RESIN COMPOSITION AND CABLE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition that is excellent not only in mechanical characteristics and low-temperature resistance but also in flame retardance.SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition includes: a base resin; calcium carbonate particles that are blended at a ratio of 10 pts.mass or more but 120 pts.mass or less with respect to 100 pts.mass of the base resin; a silicone compound that is blended at a ratio of more than 1 pt.mass but 10 pts.mass or less with respect to 100 pts.mass of the base resin; and a fatty acid-containing compound that is blended at a ratio of more than 3 pts.mass but 20 pts.mass or less with respect to 100 pts.mass of the base resin. In the composition, the calcium carbonate particles have an average particle size of 0.7 μm or more but less than 1.2 μm, and the base resin is a polyolefin compound.
