PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality polyarylene sulfide resin by a simple method, which satisfies all of low chlorine content, low oligomer content and low ash content, and further suppresses generation of a volatile component during melt processing.SOLUTION: A high quality polyarylene sulfide resin, which satisfies all of low chlorine content, low oligomer content and low ash content, and further shows good moldability with suppressed generation of a volatile component during melt processing, can be obtained by a simple method by heat-treating in vacuum a polyarylene sulfide resin having a chloroform extraction amount of 1.0 wt.% or more and fewer than 10 wt.% under a non-oxidative atmosphere at a temperature range exceeding a melting point for 15 minutes or more and less than 5 hours. |
