PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable liquid crystal composition that exhibits favorable coatability even though solvent resistance of a support substrate is low, and has uniform orientation.SOLUTION: There is prepared a polymerizable liquid crystal composition which includes: an acrylate-based polymerizable liquid crystal compound; a compound represented by formula (3); and a non-liquid crystalline polymerizable compound as a reactive diluent solvent that has an acryloyl group or a methacryloyl group as a reactive site and that has a functional group including a hydroxy group in one molecule. The polymerizable liquid crystal composition is applied to a support substrate, then it is dehydrated, then it is irradiated with light, thereby a polymerization liquid crystal film that is formed with favorable coatability and has uniform orientation can be obtained even though solvent resistance of the support substrate is low. |
