PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photogenic subject detector, and method and program for detecting a photogenic subject, capable of estimating the posture of a target photogenic subject relative to a photographing unit.SOLUTION: A portable terminal 100 includes: a first detector 6a for detecting an inclination of a photographing unit 3 in the gravity direction when a first image is obtained; a first calculation unit 7b for calculating an inclination of a target photogenic subject in the gravity direction on the basis of the inclination of the photographing unit in the gravity direction and a tentative posture of the target photogenic subject with respect to the imaging unit; a second detection unit 6b for detecting an inclination of the photographing unit in the gravity direction when a second image is obtained; and a second calculation unit 7c for calculating a relative posture of the target photogenic subject with respect to the photographing unit as an initial value of coordinate conversion formula in which a spatial coordinate of each point of the target photogenic subject is converted into a plane coordinate within a second image on the basis of the inclination of the photographing unit in the gravity direction and the inclination of the target photogenic subject in the gravity direction.
