PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operator's convenience as much as possible while maintaining the confidentiality of a printed matter by protecting the printed matter and print object data at a proper protection level corresponding to the significance of the printed matter and the print object data.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes a communication part 102 for receiving print object data and significance information of the print object data from a computer 200, an image formation mechanism 40 for printing the received print object data, a printing allowable period calculation part 103 for calculating a printing allowable period of the print object data in accordance with significance shown by the significance information of the print object data, an authentication part 110 for authenticating a password to be used to determine whether to allow the printing of the print object data, and a control part 100 for making the image formation mechanism 40 print the print object data only for the calculated printing allowable period when the authentication part 110 completes the password authentication. |
