PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome or at least mitigate various problems with a dispensing system in which a solenoid is used to "tap" the end of a piston rod and thereby advance a piston within a cylinder to dispense droplets of liquid.SOLUTION: A droplet dispensing apparatus has a piston rod 124 driven by a solenoid 118. The rod is connected to a piston of a droplet dispensing syringe. An output member 122 from the solenoid is directly connected to the rod 124 through the entire impulse produced by the solenoid 118. |
