This surface light source device (300) has; a case (310); multiple light-emitting devices (200) arranged on the inner surfaces of a pair of side walls (313, 315) within the case (310); a reflecting member (340) that protrudes from the base surface of the case (310), and that reflects light emitted from the light-emitting devices (200) toward an aperture part of the case (310); and a light-emitting surface member (330) that has a light-diffusing property and a light-transmitting property, and that covers the aperture part. The light-emitting devices (200) are arranged on the side walls (313, 315) such that the light axis of the light-emitting elements is parallel to the base surface of the case (310). The light-reflecting member (340) has a ridge line (340a) that is parallel to the side surfaces and the ceiling surface of the case (310), and the light-reflecting member is formed with a curved surface, with the ridge line (340a) being contained in the apex thereof. |
