PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium having a lustrous surface and capable of inhibiting bronzing on an image forming occasion and of realizing a high optical density.SOLUTION: This recording medium is a recording medium having a substrate and an ink receptive layer including inorganic particles. Arithmetic mean roughness of the surface of the recording medium as stipulated by JIS B 0601 : 2001 is 0.8 μm or above. The surface of the recording medium possesses apertures with widths of 30 μm or below and lengths of 500 μm or below. The number of the apertures with respect to 1 mmof the surface of the recording medium is 5 or above and 30 or below.
