PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode material suitable for a constituent material of an electrode for a spark plug having excellent resistance to oxidation at high temperatures and corrosion resistance, and to provide the electrode for the spark plug, and the spark plug.SOLUTION: An electrode material contains, by mass%, Al of 0.005% to 0.2%, Si of 0.2% to 1.6%, Cr of 0.05% to 1.0%, Ti of 0.05% to 0.5%, Y of 0.2% to 1.0% and the balance of Ni with inevitable impurities and satisfies Si/Cr≥1 by mass ratio and is used as a raw material of an electrode for an ignition plug of an internal combustion engine of an automobile and the like. It has an excellent oxidation inhibiting effect since it contains Al, Si, Cr and Y in specific ranges and the Si content is larger than the Al content. The expansion and cracking of an oxide film are inhibited since Ti is contained in a specific amount, the electrode material can maintain a microstructure even at a high temperature and has excellent resistance to oxidation at high temperature since Y is included in a specific amount. Corrosion resistance of the oxide film itself is enhanced and the oxide film is not prone to corrosion even by corrosive liquid since Si/Cr≥1 is satisfied. |
