A landing gear system (40) for a trailer is described. The landing gear system (40) includes two jacks (44), each with a first tubular body (46) in which a second tubular body (48) is telescopically mounted, a hydraulic chamber (62) and a pneumatic chamber (66). The system includes a hydraulic fluid reservoir (82), a pneumatic fluid source (85), a pneumatic manifold (72) in pneumatic fluid communication with the pneumatic source (85) and in pneumatic fluid communication with said hydraulic reservoir (82) and a hydraulic manifold (70) in hydraulic fluid communication with the hydraulic reservoir (82). Pneumatically operated hydraulic pumps (78) are included, along with a central control mechanism (42) attached to the pneumatic manifold (72) and disposed to simultaneously control pneumatic flow into the pneumatic chambers (66) of the jacks (44) and to pneumatically operate hydraulic pumps (78). Separate pneumatically operated hydraulic valves (81) are provided to individually control hydraulic flow from the jacks (44). |
