An objective of the present invention is to provide an ultrasound diagnostic device whereby misidentification of an ultrasound probe is avoided. An ultrasound diagnostic device according to an embodiment comprises: an ultrasound probe further comprising a plurality of oscillators, a memory which stores probe identification information, and a binarized state generation unit which generates a binarized electrical state corresponding to probe identification data; a probe identification data conversion unit which converts the electrical state to probe identification data; a read-out unit which reads out probe identification information from the memory; a determination unit which determines conformity between the converted probe identification data and the read-out probe identification information; and an alert output unit which, if, in the result of the determination by the determination unit, the probe identification data and the probe identification information do not conform, outputs a prescribed alert.
