<p>2-Amino-5-substd. 3,4-thiadiazoles, antibacterials etc. Thiadizaoles of formula (I) (where R is alkyl or acyloxyalkyl) are antibacterials, antiparasitics, and antiprotozoals (cf NL 6915451) (I) are prepd. by an improved process in which a 2-cyano-1-alkyl-5-nitroimidazole is reacted with thiosemicarbazide in the presence of a strong acid (pref. as solvent) and 2-100% (pref. 30-40%) w/v. H2O at 0-120 degrees.</p> |
